I'm from Chi-town, but I have lived in NYC for the last 11 years. People have always called Chicago, "2nd City" to New York and there are a lot of similarities and differences between the two... that's what I started off with in the song... But recently, I was awarded and opportunity to study for my Masters in Chicago, so I moved back with my wife. I actually wrote the 2nd verse on a plane movin back to the Chi.
