There's too much negativity in this world today that we need to shake off. In music, our jobs and even family life for some. I start off my verse with "Like Common I used to love H.E.R. but now I'm doin H.E.R. mother/ though I still bump H.E.R. in the back of the Hummer during the summer... "H.E.R." is a metaphorical acronym "Hip Hop in it's Essence is Real" from the Common song in '94. That leads to the question, "what would be Hip-Hop's mother?... " Figure that out and you may know me. This song features one of my students Jedi P, an up and coming producer/MC from Harlem with a love for ol' skool hip hop, funk and jazz. He is truly an artist unto himself and it is artists like him that will keep our music growing for years to come.
